Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Online Barista Training.
What is Online Barista Training?
Online Barista Training is a comprehensive, video-based barista certification program created by Bellissimo Coffee Advisors. It covers everything from espresso preparation and latte art to coffee business operations.
How much does it cost?
Individual barista training starts at $49.95 for the first 3 months, then $14.95/month. Team/retailer plans start at $59.95/month (or $47.99/month with annual billing, a 20% savings).
How does the monthly billing work?
Your subscription auto-renews on the same calendar day each month using the payment method on file. Individual baristas pay the introductory $49.95 once at signup and then $14.95 monthly thereafter. Retailers are billed $59.95 monthly (or $575.88 once a year on the annual plan). You can change plans, update your card, or cancel at any time from your account settings.
What should I do if my card expires?
Sign in, open your account settings, and update the payment method before the renewal date. If a renewal attempt fails, we'll email you and retry for a few days before suspending access. As soon as a valid card is on file, your access resumes automatically — no need to re-purchase.
How do I cancel my online membership?
Sign in, go to your account settings, and choose Manage Subscription → Cancel. Your access continues until the end of the period you've already paid for. No pro-rated refunds are issued for partial months. If you cancel and rejoin later, you'll start fresh at current pricing.
How do I update my account information?
Sign in and open your account settings page. From there you can update your name, email, password, phone number, and payment method. Team owners can also manage employee seats from the same dashboard.
Can I change my password?
Yes. Sign in, open account settings, and use the change-password form. You'll need your current password to set a new one. If you've forgotten it, use the 'Forgot password' link on the sign-in page and we'll email you a reset link.
I can't remember my username — what should I do?
Your username is the email address you used to sign up. If you've forgotten which email, contact info@onlinebaristatraining.com or book a support call and we'll help you locate the right account.
Can I log in from any computer?
Yes. Your subscription is tied to your account, not a device. Sign in from any laptop, desktop, tablet, or phone with a modern web browser and an internet connection.
Why does a streaming video keep pausing?
Video buffering is almost always a network speed issue. Try refreshing the page, switching from Wi-Fi to a wired connection, closing other tabs, or stepping the quality down to a lower resolution. If problems persist, email info@onlinebaristatraining.com and we'll help diagnose.
How long does the training take?
Each module takes approximately 1-2 hours to complete. You can finish the entire program in a few intensive days, or spread it over weeks or months. It's completely self-paced.
What is the difference between the barista training modules and the additional content?
The 9 core barista modules are the structured curriculum you progress through to earn certification. The additional content — webinars, deep-dive videos, advanced tutorials, and seasonal releases — is bonus material included with every subscription and updated continuously. Retailers also get the retailer-only modules (menu planning, operations, marketing, etc.) on top of the core 9.
Do I get a certificate of completion?
Yes. Upon passing the required quizzes for all 9 modules, you earn a Certificate of Completion from Bellissimo Coffee Advisors — a name trusted in the specialty coffee industry for over 25 years.
How do I view or print my certificate?
From your dashboard, open the Certificates page. Each certificate has a 'View' link for the printable version and a public verification URL you can share with employers. Team owners can also print certificates for any employee on their account.
How does the team/retailer plan work?
With the Retailer plan ($59.95/month), you get 1 owner account plus 15 employee accounts. As the owner, you can track each employee's progress, see quiz scores, and verify who has completed their certification. Annual billing brings the per-month cost down to $47.99 and includes the Operations Manual Template — a $350 value.
How does OBT compare to a vocational coffee school or online degree?
OBT focuses on the practical, on-the-bar skills a barista or coffee shop owner needs — taught by industry operators with decades of experience. It's not an accredited degree program; it's a working professional's training resource you can finish in days, not semesters, at a fraction of the cost.
Do I get a discount on other Coffee Business workshops?
Yes. Active OBT subscribers receive a 10% discount on in-person Coffee Business workshops and consulting sessions run by Bellissimo Coffee Advisors. Email info@onlinebaristatraining.com from your subscriber address to claim the discount code at registration.
What equipment do I need?
All you need is a computer, tablet, or smartphone with an internet connection. The video lessons stream directly in your browser — no special software required.
Is the content updated?
Yes, we regularly add new training videos, updated content, and webinars. Your subscription gives you access to all new content as it's released.
Can I access the training on my phone?
Yes, the platform is fully responsive and works on desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
Who created the training content?
All content is created by Matt Milletto and the Bellissimo Coffee Advisors team, bringing over 25 years of hands-on coffee industry experience and expertise.
What is your refund policy?
All sales are final. Because the training data is delivered electronically and cannot be returned once access is granted, we do not issue refunds on subscription payments. If you decide the program isn't right for you, cancel from your account settings and your subscription will not renew — but the current period's payment is non-refundable. See our Terms & Conditions for the full policy.
